Family / Knight of the Month

Knight of the Month—Paul Sharp—Paul took on the task of chairing our Mothers Day Breakfast and co-chaired the prior month!
Family of the Month—Jeff & Marie Willer Family—The Willer family is always helping out, but special appreciation to the whole family for their work at the Dennis Rixen Benefit

KC Breakfast
We had a very successful May breakfast.  Double our normal number attended as we showed appreciation for our mothers and 2008 graduates.  Paul Sharp chaired the breakfast that included omelets, bacon, sausage, potato’s and muffins.  A great crew from MACH 1 helped out along with several Knights including Kevin Lesmeister, Willer Family, Sharp Family,  Vandal Family and Steve S.
Breakfast for Jamestown’s 125th!!
Normally, we take the summer off from Sunday breakfasts at the club.  However, with Jamestown celebrating our 125th this year, we have been requested to serve a breakfast on July 6th.  We will have many visitors to our parish and expect a large crowd—we will serve after both masses.  I need 8 to 10 volunteers to help at this one.  If you are in town and would be willing to go to work for a few hours, please call me at 320-1938.

Grand Knight’s Corner
Another year on the KC Calendar has come on gone.  We held elections during our last council meeting and by a unanimous ballot, all of the officers were re-elected to a second term (what a surprise that was!).  Anyway, you have us all for another year;
Grand Knight—Steve Schmitz
Deputy Grand Knight—Ed Levin
Chancellor—Steve Vandal
Recorder—Greg Schweitzer
Treasure—Randy Neva
Advocate—Larry Kropp
Warden—Kent Haas
Inside Guard—Rod Heilman
Outside Guard—Calvin Leyendecker
Financial Secretary—Walt Nieland
We have accomplished a lot during the past twelve months.  I would like to thank everyone who volunteered and a special thank you to all the chairman of the many events we held during the year.  We completed hundreds of hours of volunteered time which enabled us to support many worthwhile projects and organizations in our community and in the State of ND.
Speaking of volunteerism, our club and council really stepped up on May 22 to support the fundraiser for Dennis Rixen, a Brother Knight and the Manager of our club, at a time of need.  Jeff Willer and Becky Donagan put together food and items for a silent auction.  Help was provided by numerous employees and members of the council—too many to mention each name, but it was greatly appreciated.  I also want to thank the many area businesses and individuals who donated items for the silent auction.  Between the meal tickets and auction, we were able to raise almost $5000 for Dennis’s medical bills.
I forgot last month to recognize our Field Agent—Kevin Lesmeister for attending the State KC Convention—I’m not sure how I could forget as he was recognized during the convention as the ND KC Insurance “Top Producer”.  Congrats Kevin!
Lets take some time to enjoy our summer and remember to pray for rain and good weather.
Vivat Jesus!
Steve Schmitz—Grand Knight 1883
