'Fat Tuesday' - Spaghetti Feed

The St. John’s Academy School Board hosts an annual ‘Fat Tuesday’ Spaghetti Feed in the Zebedee Center on the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday. The next Spaghetti Feed is scheduled for Tuesday, February 24th, 2009, 4:30pm-7:30pm. The purpose of this event is to promote cooperation and togetherness within the school, parish and community, and to raise funds for the students of St. John’s Academy.

The 6th Annual 'Fat Tuesday' Spaghetti Feed was held on Tuesday, February 5th, 2008 in the Zebedee Center at St. John's Academy. Again this Mardi Gras event was very successful grossing over $2,559 and feeding over 450 hungry people

The St. John’s Academy School Board organizes volunteers to help plan and prepare the meal, and school families are asked to supply fancy desserts and/or volunteer to help work this event. The menu consists of all-you-can-eat spaghetti with secret recipe spaghetti sauce, bagel bites, baby carrots, pickles, orange drink and coffee as well as the fancy desserts. (The secret recipe for the spaghetti sauce comes from Sister Geraldine of Cardinal Muench seminary, and has received numerous compliments.) Tables and workers are decked out in Mardi Gras style decor, complete with masks, beads and confetti. We have had many compliments on the quality of the food, Mardi Gras atmosphere and the enthusiastic workers. Tickets are sold by St. John’s Academy families and are also available at the door.
